Excellent subversion of the fanon, and a gripping read at that!

The Vala in front of him is huge and imposing, elvish in shape but with wavering distinction of features, more like an elf-shaped shadow than a real person.

I loved this, so much. It's a fantastic tie-in with the nature of this particular Vala as I've always understood him.
