She had grown calling great deeds courage, but had lately learned that one can do the impossible and remain a coward.
Fight. Dissemble. Lose. Kill. Breathe. These things she could do.
What Éowyn daughter of Éomund could not do was remain tranquil before the Steward's insistent shower of respect. Of interest. Of affection. That a captain of men understood what bravery she needed, that he demanded nothing, upset her.
Giving one's heart to another-- this she could do.
But receive someone's heart?
Feel?
Want?
In her years she had learned to survive, but had never learned to live.
