I have always loved British history and the War of the Roses, the lineage of the Plantagenet family and the rocky road that all of Henry's wives, councilors and fellow world rulers had to walk was always of interest to me. I'm so very pleased that this sounded real and authentic to you. I visited Hampden Court and Windsor when I was in England in the late 1980's and I've always loved that building and the grounds. I hoped to bring a little of the life of the times through in the story, yet still allow Maglor to leave before his nature grew problematic (he would have to move on every 20 years or so since he doesn't age appreciably). Plus, he had to meet Galileo at the beginning of the next century and pass on Copernicus' notes to him according to the story I wrote earlier in B2ME.
You really made my day. Now, let's see if you like how I have him in Egypt when I get that posted late today or early tomorrow. I have a background in archaeology with a good emphasis on Egyptology, so I'm trying to not trip myself up :-)
