Yes, I think the AU card is a great one. Dwim did it? Well, no wonder. Her ideas constantly amaze me. She keeps coming up with the most incredible stuff. AU can be very difficult and I think the best AUs are ones that stick a little more closely to the canon but only veer from it in the slightest, most provocative ways. :)
