I think my favorite thing is that you show Amarie progressing as an artist, evolving from a young and rather naive person whose self-worth has been influenced by the praise of others. So easy for a young person whose parents, friends and teachers have constantly praised her to be hypersensitive to any sort of criticism, and also defensive with regards to the one who's offered criticism.
But in spite of her doubts of her teacher and her own doubts of her true abilities, she perseveres and grows and her art does with her.
