ANd yes, the gathering of thatching is definitely a sort of ritual, the types of things I imagined the elves pre Journey, and probably other groups of elves that remained did. I love the Noldor and I am urged to reconnect them with their more fairie or earth based origins though I am not convinced that they weren't like this in Aman, though the general potrayal is that they are.
