Alphangil, darling age;aegal. I love this, unsurprisingly. I love Alphangil's strength – and I love her foresight, – love that they all reach for each other as, it seems, their world is coming apart. Also Mirwain finding out about Gelmir pretty much tore me apart.

But mostly I love how quiet this is, in contrast to the description of the Nirnaeth Arnoediad – that it's devastating in the same way that Fingon's death is in the book, but in a domestic context.

Also the end is fantastic. :)
