I confess that I have been keeping an eye on your work over the past few months––anyone who make attempts at recording the history of my people attract my attention as such, though I will admit to the slightest (perfectly natural) preference for any who care to tell stories about me––and I will also confess to having a strong preference for your style of writing. The descriptions, for instance, are so remarkably vivid. It would not be a lie to say that I felt as though I were standing beneath the very sun of Dorwinion and looking out over the sea while reading this. There is also a wonderful balance between the great, sweeping political forces that can be glimpsed here, and the beautiful details of ordinary life that you include. It is not something many authors can pull off, and you do it so wonderfully!
This story captured the richness of this culture very well, and prompted fond memories of travel––those lands, of course, are long since vanished, but your writing was a wonderful way to revisit them, even if only for a short while.
Thank you very much for writing this, and I will certainly look forward to reading more of your work.
Best wishes,
Tauriel
(Yes, the strict wording of the challenge is "to one of the characters", but ehhh, whatever, it seemed easier to address this to you and so that's what I did. *blows kiss across the ocean* This continues to be a wonderful fic! :D)
