And of course sad tales are best for winter, the long, long, nights, and the turning of the old to the new. I thought you evoked that sentiment quite wonderfully with Elrond's reminiscing. Childhood can have those most magical moments and poignant moments of clarity which you capture in this line:"In that moment, I decided that he could not be so wicked, but perhaps terribly sad and as lost and out-of-place as I sometimes felt." And of course I was thrilled at Maedhros reminiscing about Fingon, but that make it all the more poignant--the longing, the long march of time, and the presence of the oath in the background. What I love about your elves is how very human they are and yet there is a sadness there too that reflects subtly the passing and the closing of the time of the elves, or at least how they see it. Celebrian is in someways the antithesis to this and this, for me, makes it all the more tragic knowing what her future awaits. I loved Dawn's calligraphy art as well and the versus she chose to do. Was that her choice or did the two of you bring your heads together on which to do?
