Thank you! This was the story I was talking about in my LJ the other week. Originally, this scene was going to be followed by a scene between Frodo and Sam just before Frodo handed over the book, followed by a couple of scenes based around future readers and historians. But half way through the Bilbo scene, I realised that it had to stand alone. So I incorporated some of the themes the other scenes were going to deal with, and left it as a single scene.
