I was tickled to death that you chose to re-mix my story! It is done with your usual graceful style. I love that you chose to contrast Elros to the Elrond of the original. (I also am happy it reads well alone for those who may not be crazy about my style or choice of content.)

I love the glimpse of Numenor and his family. I can see the undertones of the courage it took to take on a total different life and expectations and to meet them with courage and optimism.

I love how effectively you are able to write action sequences of two boys wrestling, sparring, acting in general like idiots and forgiving one another just as quickly. It reminds me a lot of the difference between raising one son and then several years later a daughter. It's probably un-PC these days for me to note how violent boys can be but quickly put that aside and move onto the next encounter; while girls may be more devious and inclined to pout and over-analyze!
