I wanted the story to mirror hers so I tried to find quotes the fit and I thought that one, with the mention of the sea, was a perfect counterpoint to the bleak midwinter. Poor Elrond really had his share of tragedy but Elros ultimately came out all right, so the winter/spring is the perfect counterpoint for these characters. I appreciate your comments about the reactions and the relationship of the twins. It's always interesting to write that dynamic.
