A fascinating further glimpse into the lives of Elros and Elrond - and just a peek at Numenor. I don't think I've seen anything else set in Numenor, so this was a first for me. I liked the juxtaposition of Oshun's Rivendell Yule with your Numenor in Spring celebration. I can see the twins' roots - the good and the bad roots in both these stories - in their adult versions so clearly. Elrond, participating, yet slightly removed, in the Hall of Fire, and Elros here, in the thick of things. I enjoyed the brief touch upon their inability to understand each other's choices as well - Elrond's need to bind himself to the earth and Elros love for the ephemeral.

I particularly loved the line from Elros about quickly taking the blame with the blatant intention of shifting it off immediately on his twin - and that he passes along that trait to his eldest son! I did a bit of research about Numenor for an old story and was thoroughly delighted to get a peek inside it.

A thoroughly enjoyable read and a lovely mirror to Oshun's fic. The illustrations were lovely too, they always add an extra bit of pizazz to a story for me.
