Thank you very much! I took a lot of the philosophical facetes of the story from Ahrabeth Finrod et Andreth, it's there where Tolkien talks about Men as "guests and visitors to a foreign country". And in Finrod's eyes, Beren's life had as much value as his own, even more maybe, because of its shortness and the fact that Beren wouldn't be reborn after his death.
