Thank you. I have to admit that I'd never paid a huge amount of attention to Merry during all my many rereads of the book, but he's really come alive for me since I've started writing LotR fanfic. I think I've written more Merry, now, than any other hobbit. Glad you liked the story, even if you did get something in your eye just as you were finishing reading it. ;-)
