Nali’s Puzzles and Devices (Crossovers and non-Middle-earth AUs)

Nali's Puzzles and Devices

Dwarven Puzzles and Games; also needles, pins, and repairs made to pots and pans.  (This is the stall for all crossovers and all AUs that are not set in Middle-earth.)

Comments are now closed but you can continue using the prompts; no claiming is necessary.

How to Post your Prompts:

Leave a comment with the subject line identifying the main characters, gen/het/slash/femslash/poly (if it’s not obvious), a brief description of the prompt, and possible warnings if needed (MPTTor SWG’s). The comment itself should be the prompt.

If for some reason you cannot make a subject line appear, please write and bold the relevant information as the first line of your prompt.

The subject lines and/or bold text will allow participants to easily scan for prompts they're interested in.

For example:

Subject line-- Frodo and Aragorn, gen, hurt/comfort at the Field of Cormallen
Comment-- While Frodo is unconscious after being rescued from Mount Doom, Aragorn cares for him.

OR

Comment-- Fëanor/Nerdanel, wedding night, sexual content

On their wedding night, Fëanor and Nerdanel end up not sleeping at all, as they are too busy enjoying each other.

The Hobbit-Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

The Oompa-Loompas have left the Chocolate Factory and when Thorin is searching for dwarves willing to go with him to the Lonely Mountain to take back his treasure, they volunteer. Thorin's reaction? What do the other dwarves think? After thay hear about the dragon, are the Oompa-Loompas still keen to come along? Just any general silliness you can come up with will be acceptable.

I can't do the prompt justice but here's a song for inspiration:

Oompa, loompa, loompity lum
Facing a dragon is beyond dumb
Oompa, loompa, doompity dunce
If you are wise you’ll listen to us
What do you get when you gather up gold
Hoarding a hall full of riches untold
Baiting a worm with the heart of a forge
You lot are all some cra-zy dwarves
You’re gonna need a bur-ur-glar
Oompa, loompa, doompity dar
Go get a Hobbit then you’ll go far
You will get your mountain back too
Or you’ll meet your oompa loompity doom

I love the song! You should post it as the response to the prompt. I'll take a good song any day! It's fun and it fills the prompt very well. I think others would enjoy it too. Thank you for writing for this strange little prompt and doing such a creative job. : )

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I thought the posts had to be a story or art or something, but if you think this fills your prompt I'll post it. Have a farthing. :-)

I've seen several poems posted and a song is a poem with music basically so I'm sure it counts. : ). I think it works wonderfully well as a prompt-filler. It's a parody of the film song and uses elements from the dwarves' journey so it crosses over perfectly. Unless this uses a farthing you don't want to spend, I think it's worth posting. You decide. I enjoyed it very much so do as you see fit. As for me, I consider the prompt as filled. I'm very happy with it.
