This is a gorgeous story. I love all of it, but this may be my favorite line: " The songs only sang of deeds of arms, but Éowyn now believed that the fiercest, bravest, battle of her life had not been on the field of Pelennor, but in the darkened hall of Meduseld, beside a fading king." This is a wonderful portrait of Eowyn, but I also love having her surrounded by all the women who are missing from LOTR.
