Thanks for the review, Tanis. I imagine that the birth of any baby would have been a joyful occasion for the Dunedain; but the birth of a Chieftain's firstborn son would be a whopping Big Deal. And yet, any Dunedain father had reason to fear for the future of his newborn child; and Arathorn also had reasons to resent the lot that fate had given his own new son, although I don't think he realized it until he held the newborn Aragorn in his arms.
