Thanks, Starbrow! The details of Meduseld come from Fiondil, with his long-ago granted permission. In Stirrings of Shadow (which I linked to Jenni, above) Theoden was nine when Aragorn came to Rohan, and Aragorn remained until the prince was twenty. Thorongil was an adopted brother to him, and I can't see Theoden (or Theodwyn, for that matter, whose birth Thorongil was presumably present for, and who had until she was five to get to know him) dismissing Thorongil's son out of hand, or returning him to Gondor. Morwen, too, was very fond of the young Northerner - in Fiondil's canon, and mine, he helped her with the birth of the children she had after his arrival (at least one birth, in Fiondil's fics, but Theoden had two sisters born during that time period, one unnamed and Theodwyn), being an excellent healer in his own right. So I have no doubt Faramir is in good hands. As to what exactly happens, though...we shall see.
