Thank you so much! I found it really, really difficult to get these two worlds together - not because they are so different, but because they are based on the same basic legends. I had to think about it for days to puzzle out how to get the two worlds to mesh, but Eru's interference with Numenor can happily answer for as much handwavy stuff as you want, really. I'm just relieved it works.

I think it'll be good for both as well, although I strongly doubt Loki will listen to Maglor's words about boasting! In this story, both of them insisted on being such dominant characters - I genuinely wasn't sure halfway through if they were going to fuck or just fight!

I so much loved putting in the bit about the bottle of wine - directly inspired by the fact that although neither myself or my partner drinks wine, we have nevertheless managed to acquire at least six bottles of the stuff somehow, and we have no idea where it's come from or why it's in our house. I ended up coming to the conclusion that there's something about living in the UK that means you just get wine, doubtless via the raffle/tombola/bottle stall/leaving pressies/houseguests/people coming up and handing it to you on the street I don't even know method. The wine was probably better than Maglor figured, as 'a few years' for him probably meant it had been around since, like, the 1960s.
