Boromir of Ladros having seizures isn't canon, of course, but I do have them, and I know some seizures could very well be life threatening! Prince John of the United Kingdom died before his fourteenth birthday from an onslaught of seizures because there was no reliable treatment in the early 20th century to keep them in check - how much more likely would it have been, then, in Middle-earth? *shudder*
