Yes, I feel it must have been a very important moment (days? weeks?) for both of them. Finarfin probably expected Galadriel to come back home later, and maybe she initially thought she would, too... instead, they have to part for yet another couple of millennia. So indeed, at least they got to be together for the battle (and protect each other a bit, maybe)!
