"A bittersweet reunion" by Lyra
B2MeM Challenge: 2012 BINGO Bash (Women of the Silmarillion: "Women who survive"). Also covers the Passport to Middle-earth prompt for March 19/ Rivendell: "Write a story or create a piece of artwork centred on meetings or reunions."
Format: Ficlet
Genre: Drama, if something so short qualifies for any genre at all
Rating: General
Warnings: Allusions to canonical character death
Characters: Galadriel, Finarfin
Pairings: n/a
Creators' Notes (optional):
Very heavily inspired by GoldSeven's painting All the others, gone.
I just dug this out of my WiP folder, polished a few sentences and otherwise posted this as I'd left it, four years ago. Why I didn't post it back then is beyond me. *shrugs*
Summary:
Having set up camp in Middle-earth to prepare for the War of Wrath, Finarfin has the most important meeting of them all.

I was rather amused by this!
A good meeting, that one, despite the grief attending it.
Are you just assuming that Galadriel fought in the War of Wrath for the purpose of this fic or is it something that is firmly part of your head canon?
We are given so few and contradictory clues about what she was doing, after that last canonical visit to Nargothrond!
