Yes, sometimes I think it would be wonderful to have been born an elf and live for thousands of years, but at other, more rational times, I am happy as I am. If I lived for thousands of years I would be going through all the political and natural changes that the world does and of course, it would be overwhelming not to mention draining. I can understand why the elves faded.
