There are a few mystery novels floating around in Tolkien fanfiction, even if it is not the best-known genre in the fandom. But they tend to be set in Middle-earth. Something more shocking about the genre in the so-called "Deathless Land." I am up to my eyebrows in [livejournal.com profile] keiliss's WIP novel The Pink Flamingo (https://archiveofourown.org/works/6011812). She's is getting close to the finish on that one!
