I really enjoyed this insight into a character I must confess I've never really thought much about! But Lotho seems oddly familiar and relevant to today's world, this grasping of power at whatever cost, never caring who you step on as you go. At the end, I couldn't help but feel sad for him, even though he brought it pretty much entirely on himself. Perhaps because he brought it on himself, in a way; he invoked powers he had no idea of, and when they had no more use for him, they made away with him. A sad ending to a sad and bitter life.
