I feel that this is the right continuation of Aerin's story - perhaps even the end of it for, although I would like to think of her reaching somewhere warm and welcoming on the other side of the mountains, I don't think she would see it as failure should she simply lie down on a cold night and drift away, free from Brodda and dreaming of Morwen.
