The Darkening must have been an incredibly difficult time for all involved, and you show it so well here. (My Atto Fiondil's "In Darkness Bound" supplies my headcanon for how it must have gone. Though I'd recommend reading "Elf Interrupted" 1 & 2 first, though they take place chronologically after.) I love Nerdanel and Anaire here, and I wonder how Earwen, wife of Arafinwe would have fit into this conversation. (I sometimes wonder if she felt a little left out, between the three Finwean daughters-in-law, considering she was the only non-Noldo).
