Very well done! I agree that Éomund is an underused (idea of a) character, and it makes sense that he would need time and evidence in order to trust Aragorn/Ælric. Nice to think that he got to know Éomund at least a little before meeting his orphaned son and daughter many years later. Because it's me, I love the Rohirric assessment of the desperate Gondorian mercenaries, and for some reason I also really liked this line: “Dunlending? Are you blind, man? Dúnadan – got some Stonelander somewhere back of him.” If only Erfrith knew just how right he was!
