Format: Ficlet
Title: Grievous Consequences
Genre: Angst

Summary:  After the changing of the world, son a weeps with his father

In Aman, the skies wept as in a small chamber on Taniquetil, the Elder King knelt in communion with his maker.

“I’m sorry, Atar, for placing this burden upon you,” Manwe apologized.

It is not your fault, my son.  When I gave my Children their agency to act upon the world, I did not give them the freedom from the consequences for their actions.  Ar-Pharazon chose to listen to your fallen brother’s servant, and so the price had to be paid.

Manwe wept,  too, and grieved with Eru as the world changed, and Arda forever separated from the Blessed Realm.

The hiding of the Straight Road and separation of the West is one of the true hidden tragedies of the Silmarillion.

This was very moving and good to know that Eru and Manwe care.
