Comments are now closed but you can continue using the prompts; no claiming is necessary.

How to Post your Prompts:

Leave a comment with the subject line identifying the main characters, gen/het/slash/femslash/poly (if it’s not obvious), a brief description of the prompt, and possible warnings if needed (MPTTor SWG’s). The comment itself should be the prompt.

If for some reason you cannot make a subject line appear, please write and bold the relevant information as the first line of your prompt.

The subject lines and/or bold text will allow participants to easily scan for prompts they're interested in.

For example:

Subject line-- Frodo and Aragorn, gen, hurt/comfort at the Field of Cormallen
Comment-- While Frodo is unconscious after being rescued from Mount Doom, Aragorn cares for him.

OR

Comment-- Fëanor/Nerdanel, wedding night, sexual content

On their wedding night, Fëanor and Nerdanel end up not sleeping at all, as they are too busy enjoying each other.

Remember, no fanworks are to be posted in the prompts posts.

Barliman & Gandalf, gen, 5 times meeting

[identity profile] starbrow.livejournal.com 2015-02-26 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd love to see a 5 times (or 5 + 1) story about Gandalf stopping off in The Prancing Pony for a drink on his way to/from the Shire, and what Barliman thinks of him, and how that changes over time.

Young Aragorn at Bree gen

[identity profile] bunn.livejournal.com 2015-02-28 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Aragorn's first visit to Bree, maybe in the company of Gandalf or with another Ranger. Were the Bree-folk always so suspicious of the Rangers, or did something happen to cause that?

The High King returns to Bree G

[identity profile] lindahoyland.livejournal.com 2015-03-04 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
For elenbarathi

Wouldn't Barliman Butterbur be astonished to have the High King come striding in for a glass of 'proper fourteen-twenty'?

Market Day in Bree - Gen

[identity profile] lindahoyland.livejournal.com 2015-03-07 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
A typical market day in Bree, since this year's challenge is a market.
Who is there? Rangers, Bree folk, Hobbits? What is sold? Does anything dramatic happen?

The Strider

[identity profile] mybluerose1990.livejournal.com 2015-03-12 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
Who was the first person in Bree (or the surrounding area) to call Aragorn ‘Strider’ and under what circumstances was he so named? Could be Gen or any pairings you like.

Guarding On the Sly

[identity profile] engarian.livejournal.com 2015-03-12 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It is said in LOTR that the town of Bree is guarded by the Rangers against such creatures as would frighten poor Butterbur out of his socks. Did the Rangers always guard Bree? Or was it an event that they barely saved the town from which brought them to actively protect the populace?
