Summary:  While journeying in the Eastfold, Theodred and his father observe some elves…

“Come, Theodred,” Theoden whispered, and shook his teen-aged son awake. “Come and see this.”

The king hunkered down behind a bit of brush not far from the road, and the prince stared in awe at the train of softly glowing figures that processed eastward in the moonlight.

“Where are they going?”

“I don’t know; Fangorn, perhaps. They usually travel westward, though.”

Theodred gasped as a dark-haired elf woman, the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, paused and looked directly at him.  She  smiled, her grey eyes sparkling in the moonlight, and young Theodred’s heart was lost from that moment on.

Awww. The idea of Theoden and Theodred hiding in the bushes made me laugh XD It also reminded me of that scene where Sam and Frodo watch the departing elves in FOTR Extended Edition.
