Oh wow, this is really great! And I love the concept.

I like it - it seems reasonable to me that they should have woolly mammoths to hunt!

Love it!

Who knew PJ was right about Legolas and the oliphaunts :-)

Sorry, But This Kind Of Mammoth Couldn' T Excist In Woodlands. It Is Absolutely Specialiced To Treeless Grasslands And The There Lingering Drie Cold.
But Maybe I Should Take The Painting Somehow AU , And Seen As Art, It Is Really Great...

That would certainly explain why it looks so surprised!!

What a fun concept. I like the surprise in the eyes of your mammoth :-)

Well, obviously it's not fun for the mammoth, but you had fun painting the piece, yes? In the long run, I think that's what really matters here. *hugs*

Great! I like that fic, too, and I do hope Elleth will get round to writing that hunt, eventually!
Quite a challenge, such a complex scene and such rapid movement and the darkness of the background!
I think you handled it really well!

"Stone-age Elves! The primeval forests around Cuiviénen!"

That certainly is a challenge and well-met! Love the picture. Love the idea of the Vanyar as hunters. They couldn't just sit around and sing songs and expect others to feed them. It's terrific to imagine an earlier reality than the role we read them playing in Aman.

It really is hard to paint a picture set in darkness--hard enough with words, but harder still on canvas. The Vanyar and their torches reflected by their hair really help with that problem a great deal.

Really a fun picture!

Ah, this is unexpected and the more satisfying for that! Well rendered!
