Summary: Sent to the refugee camp of Imladris by Ereinion, Glorfindel arrives and starts to settle in.

"Hold still!" Erestor growled as he cleaned a deep scratch along Glorfindel's neck.

Glorfindel growled angrily, stood, and walked to the door and back. "Why did he do that? Why test me? It was fun, but also almost demeaning. I was a highly-skilled warrior long before he was born. I think he's wondering if Ereinion wanted to rid himself of me, thus my assignment to Imladris."

"Calm down, Glorfindel. Elrond has never known you except through reputation. He must judge your skills and balance them against other warriors under his command to know how best to utilize you." Erestor gestured to the stool, one hand angled against his hip, the other still holding the moistened cloth. "Now … SIT!"

Lips tightly closed, Glorfindel obeyed.

Elrond sat in the council room, his four councilors and several other of his top warriors in attendance. "So - report, please. What do you think about Glorfindel's skills outside the training grounds?"

The two "mice" looked at each other and rose as one.

"He seemed to know what and who was around him at all times."

"He tracked up and down, left minimal tracks for us, and turned the assignment around, tracking us while we were tracking him."

"He walked minimally, webs were intact and stems, unbroken. He circled around us at least once. He possibly could have caught us earlier, but he waited until early afternoon."

"After he had captured both of us, he showed us how he tracked. His skills are excellent - honed and sharp. Although our environment is new, he noticed the slightest change. I want to get him into the field, tracking the enemy. He's good, very good."

"The plunges through the bramble thickets were a bit much, though," said his companion, chuckling.

Elrond nodded. "Thank you."

Although our environment is new, he noticed the slightest change.

That's a very good skill indeed!

Well, it seems Glorfi's 'mice' have no hard feelings, I hope so at least! :D And they gave a good report of him to Elrond! Yay!

Meanwhile it seems Glorfi himself is being bossed around by Erestor...hmmm...*chuckles*

Ah - good to see Glorfindel felt as annoyed on his own behalf as I did for him :)

And who better in the end to train Elrond's upcoming warriors and, in the end, Elrond's own sons and fosterlings? Well skilled indeed!

Poor Glorfindel, I can understand his annoyance *pets him*
Though it's a good thing he didn't make a big deal out of it in front of everyone - I think he does understand Elrond's motives and the necessity for him to access a newcomer's skill, but that doesn't mean that he likes it XD
