Creator’s Notes: For this prompt, I took inspiration from one of my favorite comedic movies, Galaxy Quest
Summary: The vengeful spirit of Saruman is a little confused.
The primordial creations of Eru, though they may be stripped of their power, can never be utterly destroyed. This once cunning spirit of skill, bereft of form and rejected by the West, drifted for millenium upon millenium, capable of only the most primitive of emotions. It coalesced only after many ages into a bodiless consciousness, driven by rage and a terrible thirst for vengeance.
He found himself in a world absurdly unfamiliar, except for one thing: it contained Men, weak and susceptible to his influence.
Peering into mind after mind, he caught glimpses of what he sought: Rolling green hills. Round doors. A word in their language: Hobbiton.
Where is Hobbiton? he asked one who could not see him.
“That place from the Lord of the Rings?” the fool answered aloud.
The place of the Ring! Yes!
“What place?” asked another one.
“Hobbiton. Didn't you just ask me where it was?”
“Like for real? It was filmed in, uh, England, right?”
“Nah, it was somewhere weird. Australia or something. Here, let me google it. Oh, it's New Zealand, actually, look.”
He flew, fixated already on his destination. In this New Zealand he would be repaid for all he had suffered.
