Summary: Finrod takes a well-deserved break listening to Maglor's harp. But is it wise to sleep to the master's tones?





Lulled to Sleep


Finrod lay dozing, listening to the soft tones of Maglor's harp. The final carving of the stone had been finished, the fields were planted, and he had even made sure that a field of barley had been planted so that his dwarvish friends could have their beer when they came to Nargothrond to visit.

Suddenly he noticed that the music had ceased. A cascade of water poured down on him from the laughing musician. “Never daydream to my music, young Finwëan,” Maglor laughed, and he ran ahead of him to hide in the new halls of Finrod's kingdom, chased by its suddenly youthful King.
