Sister, by Senalishia
B2MeM Prompt, Card and Number: “Women of the Silmarillion” - O68: Sisters and Sisters-in-law
Format: Double drabble
Genre: Family
Rating: General
Warnings: No warnings apply
Characters: Angrod, Galadriel
Pairings: Angrod/Edhellos
Summary: Galadriel has some reservations about her future sister-in-law
Angaráto pulled his youngest sibling aside just before their guest arrived for afternoon tea. “Artanís, I'm not going to tell you to--” Her raised eyebrow dared him to finish that sentence. “--all I want is for you to be at least civil to Eldalotë for once.”
“I will if she will.”
“I've talked to her. She's agreed not to say anything about...the past. Just...be ladylike? I know you know how. Please, this is important to me--she's important to me--
Well that was flattering. But something struck her about her normally overconfident brother's uncharacteristic agitation. “You're going to propose to her!”
“I hope to, yes.”
“Oh, Angaráto, really? Her? I refuse to believe you can't do better than some empty-headed, painted-up courtier!”
“I'd like to see you say that in front of Aunt Anairë.”
“Aunt Anairë is an accomplished politician! Eldalotë's greatest talent is breeding small, fancy dogs.”
The doorman announced their guest.
“At least wish me luck?” he begged.
“You don't need it,” she reassured gently. “She'd marry a mossy rock if it were of the House of Finwë.”
Artanís pasted on her most charming smile. “Eldalotë, how nice to see you! Aww, what a cute little dog!”
