And seven for Dwarves who go delvin',
Nine for Men who were fleeced,
And then last but not least:
One that melted at 2000 Kelvin.

(also, what's a Kelvin when it's at home? I've only mostly heard of Fahrenheit and some Celsius)

Thanks! Kelvin is a measurement of temperature that sets its zero point at absolute zero, which is the coldest temperature possible. (By comparison, Celsius sets its zero at the freezing point of water, and Fahrenheit—*checks Wikipedia*—at least originally set its zero at the freezing point of an ice/water/ammonium chloride brine.)
