“From glacier to the Sea of Rhûn,” he murmured, idly stroking the feathered head leaning on his shoulder. “I have seen it all, and will see it all, night after night until my services are needed no more. I am glad you, beloved, may accept the hospitality of my ship, and keep me company when you wish it.”

The bird trilled agreement, preening his blond hair. Perhaps, husband, you should publish a travelogue. I am sure it would sell well.

The Mariner rolled his eyes. “Then again, beloved, perhaps I should not have made an exception!”

She smirked. Perhaps, Ardamirenya.
