B2MeM Prompt: Day 20 - Create a fanwork that is completely or partly set in the afterlife, or that explores beliefs about the afterlife among a culture or group on Arda.
Format: ficlet
Genre: gen
Rating: gen
Warnings: none
Characters: Beren, Luthien, original ainu character
Pairings: Beren/Luthien
Creator’s Notes: I don't even know what this is, just some silliness I banged out in in twenty minutes
Summary: Beren and Luthien go to Mandos the second time

"I remember you," Beren says before the maia can speak. "From the first time. You kept telling me that mortals are supposed to take the second door on the left. You were quite upset when I sat down in the foyer and refused to move."
The maia theatrically clears its throat. "Mortals, your time on Arda has passed. You were Guests in this life, but you now move on to your true Home. Please take the second door on the left to exit the Circles of the World." It scowls. "And no messing about this time. No matter what your wife thinks."
Beren grins at the soul next to him. "Luthien, darling, where do you want us to go?"
"The second door on the left sounds lovely," says Luthien, ignoring the sputtering maia as they walk into eternity.

That poor Maia, that's probably /exactly/ what dealing with Beren and Luthien was like. I love this!

This is fun!
I really like both Beren and Luthien here!
But I guess they are both a bit tough on officials who like rules to be observed, wherever they go.
