Back to Lands You Once Did Know by Dreamflower

(I will not be posting the scavenger hunt quote results with my entries; since I participated in creating the prompts it would not be fair.)

B2MeM Challenge: March 4
Format: poem (dribble)
Genre: poem
Rating: G
Warnings: Canon character death
Character(s): Boromir
Summary: Boromir's last journey...
Quote:
"Down the swift dark stream you go
Back to lands you once did know..."

Back to Lands You Once Did Know

The Great River carried you to the last place you walked;
brought you from the Golden Wood to your last battle.
Now it carries you over the Falls of Rauros,
on past the isle you once defended,
past the city of your birth,
the lands of Gondor,
your mother's home,
by the
Sea.

Oh, that's beautiful. The poetic form suits the meaning very well.

This is lovely, it just flows on so nicely and poignantly.

Lovely.

This is lovely! And perfectly perfect for the quote in question.

I was actually inspired in a very similar way by this quote and was planning something along these lines. Guess I'll have to change it up a bit now! ;-)

Why, thank you! Don't worry, I'll definitely do something "Boromir" with this, it's simply too perfect for him. If I didn't already have all the Boromir stuff memorized, I would have sworn this was written for him, lol! I like it in its original context, too, though.

This is lovely! I immediately thought of Boromir too and am working on a ficlet.

Very well done!

When I read the quote, Boromir was the first who came to my mind, too - even though I knew by the form of the rhyme that it couldn't be from the long "Farewell to Boromir" song that Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli made up! It just fitted the situation perfectly.

I love the dribble, and you do them so well. This is very touching.

I like the idea of Boromir going past Dol Amroth in his boat.
