I was worried about posting this as I'm just starting to do digi art and have probably no technique yet. That said, it was a really good exercise to do as drawing characters out of my head pushes my boundaries.

I'm going to work through some digital art tutorials next, to see if I can gain some skill with wacom and photoshop.

I love drawing faces, but bodies I need practice on. Now I'm coming back to look at this, I can see my errors.
Making star and branch brushes is easy in Photoshop, but it can't draw figures for you. That's the hard part.
I'm really glad you liked my effort though. Thanks again for your comments. XX

And also it reminds me of some German expressionist painters--the way that everything seems to be moving, as if with the force of emotion, although the scene itself is so quiet and still.

I wanted the wind to be blowing the branches and their hair, and chasing the clouds across the moon .
