B2MeM Prompt, Card and Number: G48 Balsamine: Impatience (113. Card: Language of flowers)
Format: double drabble
Genre: childhood, friendship
Rating: PG
Warnings: no serious damage to anyone or anything (yet)
Characters: Turin, Sador Labadal, Beleg
Pairings: n/a
Creator’s Notes: This was not one of my cards. The drabble is inspired by it  through Alasse's artwork  for the prompt earlier this month, showing Beleg and Turin, and the quotation from the chapter "Turin in Doriath" that went with it.
Summary: Two lessons for Turin: one with Sador, and one with Beleg, and he learns not as much as he might.

Creator’s Notes:  I've only used the translation of the name of the letter from the Tengwar prompt. Also written for the following quotation from the SWG's Love Actually challenge:"But the Sindar had the fairer voices and were more skilled in music, save only Maglor son of Fëanor, and they loved the woods and the riversides; and some of the Grey-elves still wandered far and wide without settled abode, and they sang as they went." ~ Of the Return of the Noldor
Summary: After the Battle of Unnumbered Tears, Beleg and Mablung arrive back in Doriath.

B2MeM Prompt and Path: “It was the possibility of darkness that made the day seem so bright.” Stephen King (Green Path, Square One)
Format: ficlet
Genre: vignette
Rating: PG
Warnings: mild angst, references to darker bits of canon
Characters: Beleg, Gwindor
Pairings: N/A
Creator’s Notes: I was aiming to follow the spirit of the prompt quite straightforwardly, really, but I seem to have given it a bit of a  twist.
Summary: Before Mirkwood, there was another great forest that fell under nightshade and Sauron himself, who was in those days but the servant of the Black Foe in the North, invaded it with fire and darkness and corrupted it. Treebeard knew it, before its fall, and sings with regret of the pine trees of Dorthonion. It was here that Beleg, who had once wandered freely in all the forests of the land, found Gwindor, who had only just escaped from thralldom in the Iron Hells of Angband, and, aiding him, persuaded him to turn around, in an attempt to rescue another man from the threat of the same thralldom. A conversation between them.

B2MeM Challenge: Anything dated from the shores of Cuiviénen to the early days of the march across the mountains to the sea. My favorite possible character would be Beleg mentioned in The of Lay of the Children of Húrin as:

. . . It was Beleg the hunter,
who farthest fared of his folk abroad
a hunting by hill and hollow valley,
Who care not for concourse and commerce of men.
He was great of growth and goodly limbed,
But light of girth, and lightly on the ground
His footsteps fell as he fared towards them,
All garbed in grey and green and brown—
A son of the wilderness who wist no sire.

That last line indicates to me that he was born on the shores of Cuiviénen. I talked about his origins in my character bio on the SWG site.

Title: Once Upon a Springtime in Doriath
Author Name: Robinka/[livejournal.com profile] binkaslibrary
Prompt: Your character gets caught in a spring rainstorm. What happens next?
Summary: A few glimpses at the everyday life of the Grey Folk of Doriath. There will be a spring rainstorm and characters stuck in it as my B2MeM prompt says, but here, you won't see heartbreak, sadness, death or that dreadful shadow that hovered over Beleriand. The Sindar deserve peace and quiet once in a while.
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Beta: Shirebound. Thank you!
Author's Notes:
-- I've smuggled a little bit of Slavic mythology to Doriathrin tradition -- drowning an effigy (in Polish called Marzanna) was one of seasonal celebrations and symbolized rebirth of nature. It's still cultivated in some regions of my homeland.

-- The sport in which a horse pulls a skier is popular here in the mountains and is called skiring.

-- Súllinn and Miniel are my original female characters who feature in my other story Carmina Brethilia. You might want to check it out to find out more about them.

-- Lossel [Sindarin]: loss = snow, gel = joy.
