B2MeM Challenge: ‘After Tom Bombadil rescues the Hobbits from the Barrow-wights, he carries treasures from the barrow of the Last Prince of Cardolan, and picks a blue brooch to take home to Goldberry. His comments indicate that they knew the woman who bore it, and I'd love to know more about her, about the Cardolan culture of her time, how she met Goldberry and what their relationship was. Either gen or femslash would be great, and I'd prefer it if Tom Bombadil didn't come into the story too much.’ - Elleth

I refrained from reading her story until I’d finished writing mine, but there was something of a similarity close to the end, although they are otherwise quite different. Apparently great minds think alike, but I did want to acknowledge that her story was written first.

Summary: As war presses in from the north, a woman of Cardolan meets a strange friend in the downs.
