Summary: Maglor gets an unexpected letter
Dear Macalaure,
When my stores began to run low last year, I asked my old friend Lord Namo if he might lend me a few of his deep elves to help with the making of new toys, and one of them was your brother Curufinwe.
We are in a terrible rush here, so I can only write a bit about what happened, which is this: the goblins have been making trouble again. When your brother saw them gathered round the North Pole, he grabbed the poker from the fireplace (for Lord Namo says he is still not allowed weapons) and charged right at them. He drove them off in a hurry, but they hurt him badly, and he has been in bed recovering for several days. The North Polar Bear has been looking after him, but I am sure he would enjoy seeing his family. If you do come, my house is on the big cliff overlooking the North Pole.
Sincerely
Father N. Christmas
Cano--
I am not very bad off, but this bothersome bear can only do so much with his great clumsy paws, and Ilbereth and I are not on speaking terms. Please come if you can.
