"The forces of good and evil keep playing the same game: move here, strike there, destroy here, retreat there... The latest of such moves: the King of Gondor moves his capital across the bridge to Minas Anor. It is, theoretically, a retreat, though it saves people, lets him regroup, reassess. It was smart."

"The dúnedain feel such things keenly, but this might prove advantageous. I told him that."

Mithrandir nodded. "No point in wallowing on the loss, Saruman. Let him think now on the future."
