Warnings: I have no idea what I’m doing. Some of my ideas might venture into crazy.
Characters: Balbo Baggins...and others

Summary: So, who was the progenitor of the Baggins Family, anyhow…? A certain hobbit lass is dedicated to finding out. She does tend to get off topic, though...

B2MeM Challenge: A mixture of Prompts. Mostly
Bilbo Baggins, Elrond, other inhabitants of Rivendell; gen, fic or art
How did it come about that Bilbo ended up in retirement in Rivendell? Did Elrond invite him? Did he invite himself? Did Gandalf arrange it? When were the arrangements made--before he left the Shire, or before or after his last journey to Erebor? What were his living quarters like? What did he bring with him from the Shire? Did he adjust easily to living among Elves? And how did the Elves feel about this small, elderly mortal dwelling among them?
Also inspired by
Someone opens the pages of a book and something falls out.
The book is either a volume from the Rivendell library or the personal copy of an inhabitant of Rivendell.
And
Books! Create something from the Library of Rivendell
Any kind of fanwork - story, art, craft - show us or tell us about a book/scroll/manuscript from Elrond’s library. Title, description, summary, cover, binding, endpapers, the art of book-binding, illumination or anything related, or a story about one particular book, be it its creation, history, content, or just playing a major role in any kind of story. It doesn’t have to be a complete work/book either. Anything goes here, provided it centers around anything that has to do with the Library of Rivendell.
Format: Short story
Genre: friendship
Rating: PG
Warnings:brief mention of violence
Characters: Aragorn, Arwen, Faramir , Bilbo
Pairings: Aragorn/Arwen
Summary: A chance discovery awakens old memories.
The characters are the property of the Tolkien Estate. No profit has been nor will be made from this story.

B2MeM Challenge: This prompt from [livejournal.com profile] grey_wonderer: Frodo decides to plant a section of the garden himself, believing he will enjoy raising his own tomatoes, potatoes, whatever you want him to attempt to grow is fine. How well does he do? Does he get any help? Is Sam offended? Amused? Annoyed?
This can be pre-Quest or post-Quest.

Format: Drabble
Genre: Humor, Friendship
Rating: G
Warnings: n/a
Characters: Bilbo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Hamfast Gamgee, Sam Gamgee
Pairings: n/a
Creators' Notes (optional): This prompt from [livejournal.com profile] grey_wonderer: Frodo decides to plant a section of the garden himself, believing he will enjoy raising his own tomatoes, potatoes, whatever you want him to attempt to grow is fine. How well does he do? Does he get any help? Is Sam offended? Amused? Annoyed?
This can be pre-Quest or post-Quest.

Author's Notes: Well, this is what came to me when I saw the prompt. Obviously it is partially inspired by movie-verse, in which Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin collide in the middle of Farmer Maggot's cornfield. Since the word "corn" has another meaning in most of the rest of the world, I've chosen to use the word "maize" which is used elsewhere than the USA, and is not unfamiliar to most Americans, though it isn't common here. Other notes at the end of the story.
This is a set of eleven drabbles.
Summary: The Gaffer is not amused when Bilbo and Frodo want to grow a "furrin" food from Buckland.

Characters: Bilbo, Frodo, Finrod, Elrond, Celebrian

B2MeM Challenge: What about a story about Bilbo's childhood or youth, featuring his parents? – Dreamflower

Format: Ficlet

Genre: Family

Rating: G

Warnings:

Characters: Bungo Baggins, Belladonna Took Baggins, Bilbo Baggins, Pansy Baggins Bolger (mentioned)

Pairings: Bungo/Belladonna

Creators' Notes (optional): This story is dedicated to Dreamflower, whose prompt inspired it, and from whom I took the idea for Bilbo's bedtime story. My Hobbit characterization owes a lot to Dreamflower generally, and no doubt other nods to her fics will be evident! At the age of 11, Bilbo is the equivalent of 7 in human years.

B2MeM Challenge:
Format: Story
Genre: recipe!fic
Rating: G
Warnings: n/a
Characters: Bilbo, Frodo, Merry, Sam
Pairings: n/a
Summary: During a spring visit by little Merry, Bilbo, Frodo and Sam introduce him to a Hobbiton custom.
Author's Note: In this story Frodo is 20, Sam is 9 and Merry is 7, or about the equivalent of 13, 6 ½, and 5 for the children of Men. This story happens between Chapters 6 and 7 of my story "A Place for Gandalf", though it is not necessary to read that story to understand this one.
I was originally stumped for a title, but then got inspired when I posted my other B2MeM project. The title is from "The Garden Song".
Prompt: In spring the greens are shooting up in gardens and in the wild; the streams are teaming with fish, and the hens are laying. Create a story or a work of art featuring a Spring seasonal food. Bonus for including a recipe.
