Creator’s Notes (optional): This triple drabble features one of my OFCs, Mirimë/Adamanta, a Maia of Nienna, formerly of Yavanna. She is the legendary "fairy wife" of the Tooks, for long ago she took the form of a hobbit lass and wed Tûk, the ancestor of all the Tooks. Frodo and Bilbo meet her when they dwell on Tol Eressëa after sailing West. Her story can be found in my WIP, Ancestress. All chapters are only 300 words.
Summary: Adamanta knows that her time with her great-grandchildren will come to an end one day, and she must make the most of her time.

B2MeM Challenge: This prompt from

grey_wonderer: Frodo decides to plant a section of the garden himself, believing he will enjoy raising his own tomatoes, potatoes, whatever you want him to attempt to grow is fine. How well does he do? Does he get any help? Is Sam offended? Amused? Annoyed?
This can be pre-Quest or post-Quest.
Author's Notes: Well, this is what came to me when I saw the prompt. Obviously it is partially inspired by movie-verse, in which Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin collide in the middle of Farmer Maggot's cornfield. Since the word "corn" has another meaning in most of the rest of the world, I've chosen to use the word "maize" which is used elsewhere than the USA, and is not unfamiliar to most Americans, though it isn't common here. Other notes at the end of the story.
This is a set of eleven drabbles.
Summary: The Gaffer is not amused when Bilbo and Frodo want to grow a "furrin" food from Buckland.

Author's Note: In this story Frodo is 20, Sam is 9 and Merry is 7, or about the equivalent of 13, 6 ½, and 5 for the children of Men. This story happens between Chapters 6 and 7 of my story "A Place for Gandalf", though it is not necessary to read that story to understand this one.
I was originally stumped for a title, but then got inspired when I posted my other B2MeM project. The title is from "The Garden Song".
Prompt: In spring the greens are shooting up in gardens and in the wild; the streams are teaming with fish, and the hens are laying. Create a story or a work of art featuring a Spring seasonal food. Bonus for including a recipe.
