Bitterness, by Starlight (Galadriel)
Mar. 17th, 2012 03:29 pmB2MeM Challenge: g51: Games: King of the Hill
Format: Drabble
Genre: Drama (?)
Rating: General
Warnings: None
Characters: Galadriel
Pairings: None
Summary: She is a survivor...
The longer she spent in Middle-earth, the more frequent these flashes of memory became. A scent, smile, a butterfly perched on a daisy just so would start one.
Galadriel had learned to be wary of them.
Once, while her grandsons played, she clearly saw herself in Tirion, with the cousins, in Grandfather's courtyard. Their game of choice, "King on the hill," was to fight their way with hands, teeth, fingernails, until they brought the king down-- until only one remained.
With a sharp pang, Galadriel realized that they had all of them fallen.
Crouching under the mellyrn, she cried.
