B2MeM Prompt: Freedom (Red Path)
Format: ficlet
Genre: family?
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Allusions to the events of the Darkening.
Characters: Findis, Ingwion, others mentioned
Pairings: Findis/OMC
Creator’s Notes (optional): Inspired by Fiondil’s works, particularly “In Darkness Bound” and “In The High King’s Secret Service”, this is set some time after the Noldor have arrived in Beleriand. The Moon and Sun are both present.
Summary: Living in Vanyamar has its drawbacks, to be sure. Lady Findis, wife of Lord Valandur of the Vanyar, has more reason to think so than most. Fortunately, she has a kindred spirit in her cousin Ingwion.

Back to Middle-earth Month 2017--Night and Day--has officially begun!

Click the link below or the image of the gameboard to open the full-sized gameboard. Please note that this is a very large image that make take a few minutes to load on slower connections. We have provided a smaller copy of the gameboard here so that participants can see how the paths are placed on the board. A text-only version of the prompts can be found here.

While any path/prompt can be used to inspire any kind of fanwork you want (including reviews and rec lists), three paths have been created with specific types of fanwork in mind: the blue path for artwork, the orange path for nonfiction/meta, and the yellow path for recs. Once you choose the path you want, begin at the S and complete each square until you reach the F.

Once you open the full-sized gameboard, some squares are clickable and link to the page needed to complete the square (for Wild and Act of Kindness squares) or link to a full-text copy of poetry prompts.

B2MeM Prompt: Full Moon (Purple)
Format: Poetry
Genre:Crossover
Rating: PG
Warnings: Silliness, but also sadness.
Characters: Tilion, Lena (Anne B. Walsh)
Pairings: Tilion/OC (unrequited)
Creator’s Notes (optional): Lena, who narrates this poem, is a character from “The Moon-Polishers”, a short piece written by my friend Anne B. Walsh and collected in her first “Week in Review”. (She's published many other things besides.) I’ve chosen to believe Lena is a Maia or other Ainu, likely of lesser power than Tilion. My poem is unrhymed and somewhat random, as my poems often are. I can rarely fit them to a deliberate structure (unless the structure itself is the prompt.)
Summary: My name is Lena, and my job is very important. I help to polish the Moon… Lena, one of the thousands of Tilion's helpers, reflects on her lord and especially the change in his transport (and her responsibilities) over the Ages. Set in our current Age.

Warnings: N/A
Characters: Galathil, Celeborn, Finrod, Aegnor, background Galadriel, Orodreth, & Angrod
Pairings: N/A
Creator’s Notes (optional): Noldor versus Sindar cultural views within story. It's written from Galathil's pov, so biased against the Noldor's opinions.
Summary: Galathil knows he has to get through this dinner with his brother's in-laws. But the Noldor are wrong when the think the sun is worse than the moon.
