I used to be a pretty active Silmarillion writer back in 2003-2007. Then I went on a long break, from which I have only just returned. Most of my writing tends to be ironic, so either humour or angst with odd echoes. I have done my share of slashing, although nothing very explicit, but I have written gen and het, too. I tend to gravitate to... second-tier First-Age Elves? By which I mean, not the assorted royals, but the notable heroes who serve them. My main setting was Gondolin, with all those heroic (and unheroic) captains, but the fic I am going to recommend is set in Doriath, and revolves around a rather clueless Beleg: here (http://archiveofourown.org/works/690253) it is, at AO3. And yes, it is humour, and slash -- or at least potential slash.
I feel I should mention that, while I write humour, I do take the craft of writing seriously. Too seriously for my own good, really.
